DROID & Interactive Display in Times Square; DROID Voice-activated Search
The video below shows people in NYC's Times Square using their Verizon Droid phones to interact with the Verizon Wireless digital signage billboard:
The Droid offers a voice-activated search feature. Users can ask a question, and the search engine, powered by Google, will provide the search results from the web or from items stored on the phone. One feature I like is that it provides turn-by-turn directions from Google Maps, as well as other helpful geographic information. This would be a great tool for city dwellers and visitors alike.
The video below is a demonstration of how the Google Maps Navigation feature works on Android-based phones:

I came across the following article via Experientia's Putting People First blog:
Deconstructing Mobiles: Myths and Realities about Women and Mobile Phones. The article, written by Anneryan Heatwole, of MobileActive.org, discusses how mobile phones are utilized among women in a variety of societies, including third-world countries. It points out some of the myths and also provides some interesting insights regarding the "access divide". The article is worth the read. I found it good food for thought and further discussion.

David Pogue's humorous take on Google Voice
The NY Time's David Pogue's humorous look at why everyone should consider Google Voice, "One Phone Number, Online Voicemail, and Enhanced Call Features".
I especially like how the video provides a look at exploring and then solving the "problem space" through various scenarios.
I got my Google Voice number today- now I need to figure out the next steps!
